Kidspeak Speech Therapy, LLC is a family-centered private practice serving children ages one to ten. We provide pediatric speech therapy in our warm and inviting North Reading, MA office, and online for families in MA and NH.
Alison Chamallas, M.S. CCC-SLP
I am a certified speech-language pathologist with over 15 years of pediatric experience. Most recently, I received formal recognition as an apraxia specialist from the Apraxia Kids organization after graduating from the "Apraxia Boot Camp", an intensive advanced training program focused on the diagnosis and treatment of childhood apraxia of speech (CAS).
I founded Kidspeak in order to deliver evidence-based and highly personalized therapy services to children and families in my local community. I love “hiding” the hard work of therapy in play, and keeping my clients motivated, happy, and engaged. During sessions, you’ll find me on the floor with toys, games, and books!
At Kidspeak, we know that every child is different, and it’s our mission to help your child communicate in their own unique way. We take a collaborative approach to therapy, involving all the important people in your child’s life for the biggest impact.
Kidspeak is a small, boutique pediatric practice. We take the time to invest in the relationships with the children and families we serve and ensure each client understands how much we care and how important they are to us. Our office is a warm, kid-friendly, and fun environment... Your child will feel right at home!
We provide play-based services for children experiencing communication challenges, including childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), speech sound disorders, and early language delays. While this is serious work, you’ll see us on the floor, playing, singing songs, looking at books, and having fun doing it!
"Alison is incredibly approachable and kind in all her interactions, we look forward to seeing her each week and learning new ways to help our son."
Alison has been such a steadying guide for our family as we navigate our young son’s speech delay. Realistic but optimistic in her approach, thorough and thoughtful in her formal assessments, and incredibly approachable and kind in all her interactions, we look forward to seeing her each week and learning new ways to help our son. She communicates with his speech therapist through the public school to coordinate treatment, and has helped me learn ways to support him at home with his goals in addition to teaching him during the lesson. Speech therapy with a three-year-old (and a rambunctious one at that!) requires persistence, patience, creativity, and a real knowledge of early childhood speech development and we feel so lucky to have found a speech pathologist with this skill set!
Begin by scheduling a phone call with Alison to discuss your concerns. You may be asked to complete a questionnaire about your child’s communication, or, if childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) is suspected, send a video speech sample.
Come to the clinic for a formal evaluation, so that we can learn more about your child’s challenges, strengths, and what helps them communicate. If you have a recent evaluation report, you may proceed straight to therapy.
Discuss the evaluation results and ask any questions you may have. If speech-language therapy is recommended, you may schedule out your therapy sessions. Let’s work together to help your child reach their communication goals!
